The Energy Consultants Association (ECA) is the industry authority for energy consultants, brokers and third-party intermediaries (TPIs) across the UK. The ECA works to raise standards, support members and provide a trusted voice for the sector through engagement with regulators, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

The ECA represents organisations operating within the energy consultancy, brokerage and wider energy services sector. Our membership includes energy consultants, brokers, TPIs and businesses that support the industry.

The ECA supports members through industry representation, stakeholder engagement, consultation responses, networking opportunities, events, webinars and access to industry insight. We also promote professionalism, transparency and best practice across the sector.

The ECA was established to provide a collective voice for the energy consultancy and brokerage sector, helping to raise standards, improve transparency and ensure the industry is represented in discussions that shape the future of the energy market.

Membership is open to organisations operating within the energy consultancy, brokerage and wider energy services sector that share the ECA’s commitment to professionalism, transparency and ethical business practices.

You can apply for membership by completing the online membership application form. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed and a member of the ECA team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Membership fees are tiered according to the size of your organisation, starting at £500 + VAT for sole traders. Full details are on our Membership page.

The ECA engages with regulators, government departments, suppliers and industry bodies on behalf of members. We participate in consultations, respond to policy developments and ensure the views of members are represented on issues affecting the sector.

The ECA regularly engages with organisations including Ofgem, DESNZ, Elexon, RECCo, Smart DCC and other key stakeholders across the energy sector.

Members are encouraged to participate in surveys, consultations, working groups and industry discussions. Feedback from members helps shape the ECA’s responses and engagement activity.

The Member Portal is a dedicated online resource providing access to consultation responses, webinar recordings, event presentations, industry updates, member resources and other exclusive content.

Once your membership has been approved, you will receive instructions on how to access the Member Portal and other member-only resources.
