Ofgem has launched its long-awaited review of the Third-Party Intermediary (TPI) market, seeking views on the future role and regulation of energy brokers, consultants and TPIs.
This review represents a significant opportunity for those operating within the sector to help shape future policy and regulation. The outcomes of the review could have a lasting impact on how TPIs operate and how the value they deliver to customers is recognised within the energy market.
The ECA encourages all members to take the opportunity to review the consultation and submit their views directly to Ofgem. Member participation will be critical in ensuring that the practical realities of supporting customers, navigating supplier interactions and delivering expert advice are properly understood and considered.
In addition to responding directly to Ofgem, members are encouraged to share their consultation responses, industry experience and key recommendations with the ECA to help inform our submission and ensure member perspectives are effectively represented.
Members may contribute to the ECA’s response by sharing their full consultation submission, providing comments on specific consultation questions, or highlighting issues and recommendations they believe the Association should raise with Ofgem on behalf of the sector.
The ECA will be preparing and submitting a response to the review and looks forward to working with members to ensure the collective voice of energy consultants, brokers and TPIs is clearly represented throughout the process.
