The ECA is the expert voice on non-domestic energy brokerage — and in May, we made sure the media knew it. We appeared in key trade titles like Utility Week, edie, The ENDS Report, Energy Live News, TechRound, SMEWeb and more. Two major stories drove coverage:
The King’s Speech put energy policy front and centre, so ECA Chair John Haw responded with commentary that framed broker regulation as essential to genuine energy security:
“Framing energy as a national security issue is the right call. In an increasingly dangerous world, dependence on overseas supply is a vulnerability we can’t ignore. The Energy Independence Bill and the commitment to a new era of nuclear are the correct response to a volatile world. However, the detail will matter. We’ll be watching closely to see whether broker regulation makes it into the Bill. It should. Energy security has to run through the whole market, including the unregulated brokers advising millions of UK businesses.”
The ECA also published an open letter to Ofgem on smart data access, arguing that reform must work for non-domestic customers — not around them. That landed across four publications.
Work also progressed on a feature for Energy Manager Magazine on public sector procurement, adding another platform for the ECA’s expert perspective.
